One of the worst parts of being an ex pat living in an obscure place like Wuxi is the fact that not may foreigners are here for long! One such person is our friend Kiki. She took over from David in the Deel (?) internship.
Kiki and I trying to feel like 'Sex and the City' in feezing Wuxi
So it was with a tainted smile that we had a lovely dinner at Kalina and listened to a friend singing some lovely acoustic songs and meet and enjoyed the company of many a new found foreigner!
A table full of laowais....could this actually be Paris?
Kiki and the reason for the sudden interest in Yoga classes at 'Better Fitness'
New 'Swiss' friends - who actually enjoy a joke! I so nearly fell for that chilli one!
Unfortunately soon this will be me, holding one such dinner and farewelling my friends to start my new adventure! Now, where that adventure will be is anyone's guess!!
I have been offered a job in Hong kong and one in Suzhou! Now - stop - wait a minute - on paper it is an easy decision - HONG KONG- however taking into account the profession, lifestyle, and financial situation it is a totally different story! I'm sure it will come to me eventually - I even have my Dad stumped! We will see!
Now, I must take the time to apologise! I have negected my blog BUT I have a valid reason!
Last week, I was very sick, my body decided that it would be fun to be a human pipe for 6 days. So for 6 days anything that was put in my body, exited within the next few minutes (I think that, that is all the detail that you need to know!) However, i will follow up this entry with my visit to the Chinese hospital - something that I SWORE that I would try to avoid with all my might.....6 days of no eating or drinking slightly qualifies I think!
Sending much love over the seas,
Arohanui,
